March 26, 2008: Email Phishing
Far West Bank is committed to protecting your privacy and providing a secure online banking network. Please be aware that an UNAUTHORIZED "Phishing" email (CLICK HERE TO VIEW) is in circulation that attempts to obtain Far West Bank customers' e-@cess user IDs and passwords. This is NOT an official Bank communication. The Bank will never ask you for this type of information/confirmation via email.
Phishing is a tactic used to obtain access to accounts illegally by sending out counterfeit messages that appear to be from your financial institution. The link in the message is currently not working; however, when operable the link would more than likely take you to a counterfeit version of the e-@ccess log-in page. Once the perpetrators obtain your user name and password, they can then try and access your accounts.
Please never provide your user ID and/or password to anyone. Far West Bank will never ask you to provide us this information. If you have entered your User ID and Password on this page, please immediately contact eBanking Support at (801) 818-3765 or (800) 451-6465 to reset your User ID and Password.
This scam does not impact your use of e-@ccess online banking or online bill payment in any way. As long as you are accessing your account from Far West Bank's web site at www.farwestbank.com, you are logging into our secure system. |
